Welcome To BAMS - The Boerne Area Model Society

BAMS is an Academy of Model Aeronautics  (AMA) chartered Gold Leader RC model airplane flying club located in Boerne, Texas for over 25 years. Our FRIA designated flying field is located within Kendall County's modern and beautiful Joshua Springs Park, north of San Antonio (take IH-10 exit 533, to Welfare). For information on finding the field and to see our airspace, click here to go to the map. These two links show the full NOAA or Air Sports Network weather forecast for the field. Another good source for wind information is Sailflow. For a look at conditions in the area within the last 15 minutes, try this link to NOAA's MADIS site about 3 miles northeast of the field.

To learn more about BAMS, take a look at this video. Also, check out our YouTube channel and follow us on facebook .

If you are a new pilot and want to learn to fly or are experienced (or maybe just a little out of practice) and want to check things out, or are just looking for more information about BAMS, please use the "Contact Us" link to the right. Check out our introductory flight program - BAMS provides everything you need: radio, plane, and flight instructor. We invite you you to come out to our club meeting on the first Saturday of every month at 9:00 AM at the flying field - everyone's welcome. If you would like more information on becoming a BAMS member, visit our New Member Page. To check out BAMS' complete flight certification program, click here to see the Guide and here to see the Proficiency Checklist. Our U-Control pilots enjoy a 65' flying circle and invite anyone interested in honing their skills or trying control line for the first time to stop by and check it out. Training planes and instructor pilots for both RC and U-Control are available on request.
